A hollow structural section is connected using a half-inch by nine-inch by one-foot-one-inch steel plate fastened with six five-eighth-inch diameter A325 slip-critical bolts in oversized holes. An angle measuring four by four by five-sixteenths is secured to each side of the structural section with a half-inch diameter through bolt into the laminated strand lumber member.
