Perpendicular beam connections frame into HSS columns and steel beams using complete-joint-penetration welds and stiffener plates. A connection at a steel column strong axis incorporates grade 50 stiffener plates on each side and full-depth stiffeners. A connection at a steel column weak axis incorporates full-depth stiffeners on each side. A connection at a steel beam incorporates one-quarter inch minimum full-depth stiffeners on each side. All configurations incorporate perpendicular beam connections sized per plan with welded joints.
