A sloped structural steel beam frames into the flange of a steel column sized per plan. A one-half inch bent plate connects the beam flange to the column face, secured with a bolted connection and a three-inch dimension offset. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld attaches the bent plate assembly to the column flange. Stiffener plates are welded to the column web per schedule to handle concentrated loads at the work point.
