A wide-flange beam connects to a structural steel column flange using custom plates welded to the top and bottom flanges. A web plate of dimensions "t" x "L" x "W" is secured with erection bolts as required per schedule. Fillet welds of sizes t1 and t2 connect the plates to the members on three sides. A maximum three-quarter-inch clearance is maintained at the column face. Centerlines of the beam and column align with standard dimensional tolerances.
