This assembly consists of a 3/8-inch diameter steel bar bent into a handle shape, which is welded to a 3/16-inch thick steel plate. The handle is installed through a 1 3/16-inch diameter hole and a 1/2-inch slot in the checkered plate. The handle assembly is secured to the checkered plate with a 3/16-inch fillet weld applied to all four sides of the plate connection, typical for this installation.
