A structural steel beam bears on a concrete pier foundation, anchored by two three-quarter-inch diameter by eighteen-inch embedded A36 heavy hex head bolts. The concrete pier is reinforced with six number five vertical bars and number three ties spaced at twelve inches on center, supplemented by three number three bars in the top five inches of the pier. A mechanical unit mounts to the top of the assembly with connections sized per the manufacturer requirements. The pier extends to a minimum depth of five feet below the top of compacted backfill.
