A two-sided beam-to-girder connection accommodates framing beam depths differing by greater than one inch or less than or equal to one inch. Supported beams connect to the supporting girder web using a typical bolted shear tab sized per structural plans. A structural tee section matches the flange width of the beam and is welded to the underside with a quarter-inch fillet weld when depth differences exceed one inch. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the top and bottom flanges where applicable. Bolt spacing and edge distances conform to AISC specifications.
