An eight-inch concrete masonry unit pony wall connects to a ten-inch concrete slab on grade with continuous footing. The masonry wall contains number five vertical reinforcing bars spaced at sixteen inches on center and number four horizontal reinforcing bars spaced at twenty-four inches on center, tied to number five dowels extending from the footing with a forty-eight bar diameter lap splice. The footing features two continuous bottom number five reinforcing bars and a thickened slab section measuring one foot six inches wide. A stud wall bears on top of the masonry wall, secured with two number four top bars. A note indicates that an elevated slab is similar.
