A steel stair stringer bears against a masonry wall and concrete-filled metal floor deck. The steel stringer connects via a complete joint penetration weld to a vertical plate, which is anchored to a three-quarter-inch thick embed plate. The embed plate is secured with a three-quarter-inch by forty-eight-inch deformed bar anchor and two three-quarter-inch by eight-inch headed stud anchors embedded in the masonry wall. Concrete over metal floor deck bears on the top plate assembly, sized per plan.
