An angle member of size L3x2x1/4x3'-8" LLH is centered on the opening and secured with three 1/2-inch self-drilling screws in two valleys on each side of the opening. The steel deck is attached to the edge member using 5/8-inch diameter puddle welds. The maximum allowable opening dimension is 1'-4" each way for exterior bearing conditions.
