Hollow structural section post base plate connections are embedded in concrete slabs for both interior and corner or edge column conditions. An embed plate measuring 1/2 inch by 10 inches by 1 foot 2 inches is anchored with four 1/2-inch diameter by 5-inch welded headed studs. At the interior column condition, additional number 4 bars are placed each way for a total of four bars. At the corner or edge column condition, additional number 4 top and bottom bars extending 48 inches are paired with additional number 3 hairpins on each side for a total of four bars.
