Multiple structural steel framing members converge at a central column through a multi-sided gusset plate connection. Top and bottom plates feature a thickness matching the thickest connected beam flange plus one-quarter inch. Complete joint penetration welds connect the plates to the members. Typical shear connections are provided per plan reactions with specific edge distances and clearances.
