Cold-formed steel framing at the head of wall incorporates a top deflection track with a six-inch long piece of stud sistered back-to-back at the steel stud. The vertical steel stud connects using a TSN SLB600 at each six-inch stud or an SLB800 at each eight-inch stud, secured with three number twelve screws centered in the vertical slot at each stud. A verti-clip fastens to the edge angle with a one-eighth inch weld four inches long at the bend. The edge angle bears on a wide flange beam sized per plan.
