A canopy horizontal brace connection joins a hollow structural section column per plan to a hollow structural section beam per plan. A quarter-inch thick plate is inserted and welded into the slotted hollow structural section brace with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds on three sides. A quarter-inch cap plate is welded to the members, and additional connections are detailed per sheet S-606.
