A structural steel beam frames into a reinforced concrete wall using a 3/8-inch thick gusset plate and a 12-inch by 8-inch by 1-inch thick embedded plate. Two 3/4-inch diameter by 8-inch long shear studs are welded to the embedded plate typically at 4 inches on center each way. The connection is reinforced with two #6 bars with standard hooks welded into the concrete wall assembly. A 1/4-inch fillet weld is used typically along the gusset plate and steel member joints.
