A wide flange beam connects to a wide flange girder of a different depth using bolted shear plates and complete joint penetration flange welds typically. A two-inch radius maximum access hole is provided for the bottom flange weld on the girder. Stiffener plates matching the beam web thickness are added where indicated on the plan. Shear plates, welds, and fasteners follow the typical non-frame beam connection schedule and details unless noted otherwise.
