A skewed beam connects to a supporting beam web or column using a one-half-inch minimum full-depth shear plate. The connection incorporates a complete joint penetration weld with a maximum one-inch clearance gap. Additional bottom flange bracing is provided per typical details with a minimum two-bolt diameter spacing.
