A standard concrete slab on grade assembly rests on a prepared subgrade. A non-expansive soil layer is provided as required by the soils report and structural plans. Over the subgrade, a moisture break aggregate layer supports a vapor retarder directly beneath the concrete slab. Reinforcing is centered within the slab thickness, with all dimensions and thicknesses sized per plan and footing schedules.
