A wide-flange beam frames into a hollow structural section post for a canopy assembly. The connection utilizes a 1/2" x 7" x 0'-7" plate welded to the top of the hollow structural section post with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The wide-flange beam references the plan for size and alignment, centered on the column centerline. Additional connections include slotting the hollow structural section post with welded attachments and maintaining a one-half inch maximum clearance where specified.
