A single-sided steel beam-to-beam connection utilizes a shear tab welded to the supporting member and bolted to the supported beam web. A three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plate is welded to the supporting beam web with a quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides. Additional three-eighths-inch by four-inch plate stiffeners match the beam flange width and are welded to the flange with quarter-inch fillet welds on two sides. Weld backup plates are specified but omitted from the drawing for clarity.
