An anchor bolt connection occurs at a concrete masonry unit wall. A 1/2-inch diameter ASTM A307 Grade A headed anchor bolt is embedded into the masonry with one inch of grout at the contractor's option. Two #5 by 4-foot reinforcing bars are centered about each anchor rod if the bolt is not located at a bond beam location. When bolts are spaced at 24 inches or less, the reinforcing bar must be made continuous and extended one foot past the last bolt. Minimum clearances and spacing dimensions are provided for positioning the anchor relative to the masonry cells and bond beams.
