A W18 brace connects to a beam web using a one-and-a-half-inch gusset plate. The gusset plate features two rows of six 1-inch diameter A490-SC bolts at 6-inch gauge with oversized holes in the beam web. Fillet welds of 5/16-inch and 1/2-inch size secure the connection assembly at the working point.
