This assembly consists of a threaded anchor rod passing through a base plate, which sits above a grout space and the top of concrete. The rod is secured above the base plate with a hardened washer and a nut, with a double nut configuration required only when specified in the anchor rod schedule. Below the concrete surface, the rod terminates with a round plate washer and a nut, both of which are tacked in place in the shop at three places. The total length of the rod is defined by the projection above the concrete, the embedment depth, and the stretch length. A minimum clearance of one-eighth inch is maintained between the bottom nut and the end of the rod.
