A structural steel grade beam is embedded within a reinforced concrete footing and thickened slab zone. Shear studs welded to the steel section tie the member into the surrounding concrete foundation. Reinforcement sizing and footing dimensions are scheduled per plan over a subgrade prepared according to geotechnical recommendations. A construction joint is detailed at the base of the buckling-restrained braced frame.
