A steel column connects to a steel base plate resting on a 1-1/2 inch non-shrink grout bed above a concrete footing. The base plate is anchored within a concrete blockout surrounded by a concrete slab on grade. A reinforced concrete wrap surrounds the lower portion of the steel column to match the finished diameter of a glass fiber reinforced concrete column wrap above. This concrete wrap contains eight number 4 vertical reinforcing bars and number 3 ties spaced at 8 inches on center. An exterior column finish is applied per architectural drawings.
