The floor joist runs parallel to the exterior stud wall, bearing on a double top plate with two-by-four or two-by-six blocking at four feet on center. A one-and-a-half-inch glulam rim joist matches the depth of the floor joist and receives floor diaphragm edge nailing per the plan. Simpson transfer clips are installed according to the shearwall schedule, with additional two-by blocking added where plate fastener spacing is less than three inches. Wall sheathing and edge nailing are provided per the shearwall schedule, with a second layer of sheathing included where required.
