A stair stringer connects to a supporting landing beam via a 3/8-inch by 12-inch face plate welded to the beam web with a 1/4-inch fillet weld. A 1/4-inch end plate is welded to the stringer with an all-around weld and connected with 3/16-inch fillet welds. Three-eighths-inch full depth stiffener plates are provided at each end of the face plate, secured with 3/16-inch fillet welds.
