A structural brace connects to a concrete slab on metal deck using a plate anchored directly into the deck flutes. The assembly consists of a quarter-inch thick by fifteen-inch by one-foot three-inch plate secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors with three-quarter-inch embedment spaced at twelve inches on center. An angle member measuring six by four by three-eighths inches connects to the plate with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. A working point is maintained between the expansion anchors, and slab on deck orientation may vary.
