A structural connection features a 3/8-inch plate with standard or horizontal short slotted holes typically secured with bolts. Stiffener plates measuring 1/2-inch are welded to the column with typical 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides. Additional top and bottom stiffener plates are provided for moment connections in the orthogonal direction as indicated on sheet 11/S700. Edge distances and spacings are detailed with a 1 1/2-inch minimum and 3-inch maximum.
