An elevator hoist beam connects to an elevator rail support post or hoist beam support post using a three-eighths by six by three inch plate welded to the beam. A three-quarter by ten by four foot six inch plate passes over the posts on each side, with length verified against the installed elevator. A quarter-inch field or shop fillet weld secures the assembly.
