A new eight-inch concrete masonry unit wall connects to an existing precast concrete wall using adhesively anchored reinforcing dowels. Five-eighths inch diameter holes are drilled four inches deep into the precast panel, accepting number four dowels that extend two feet into the masonry wall to lap with horizontal reinforcement. Hilti HY-70 adhesive or an approved equal secures the dowels within the precast concrete. Special inspection is required for all epoxy dowels and anchors.
