A six-inch thick concrete slab on grade is reinforced with number four reinforcing bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. The edge of the slab transitions into a thickened monolithic concrete perimeter footing with a twelve-inch minimum width and a thirty-inch minimum depth below grade. Additional reinforcing bars are placed longitudinally within the footing profile. The assembly bears on compacted subgrade with crushed stone base course.
