Connecting wide flange beams frame into a supporting member using a shear plate designated as shear plate T, with high-strength bolts designated as Q high-strength bolts sized per schedule. A shear tab extension is required where dimension D is greater than 4 inches or at single-sided connections, but is omitted at W12 beams and smaller. The shear plate requires sizing per the engineering schedule and connects the webs of the intersecting wide flange beams.
