A structural kicker brace connects parallel to the low flutes of a bare metal deck. A bent plate spanning four low flutes, or sixteen-gauge bent plate spanning three low flutes at the interior, is secured to each low flute using quarter-inch diameter screws. The kicker connects to the bent plate using four number ten sheet metal screws typically.
