A backstop steel connection features a brace connected via a three-eighths-inch gusset plate to a low beam sized per plan. The brace is secured with two five-eighths-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts. A hanger per elevation ties into the assembly near the work point. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld is applied on three sides to secure the gusset plate.
