A non-frame pipe column, similar to a hollow structural section tube, is welded to a base plate with a weld size per American Welding Society minimum or five-sixteenths. The base plate features a grout hole equal in size to the anchor bolt holes. Anchor bolts are sized per schedule with double nuts and hardened washers, bearing on the concrete footing. A one-and-a-half-inch typical grout space is provided below the base plate set at blockouts. The footing embeds anchor bolts equipped with one-half-inch by four-inch square plate washers and reinforcing ties consisting of number four bars at six inches on center with a minimum of three ties at the footing.
