A suspended concrete slab over metal deck features a continuous bent plate edge form welded to the supporting wide flange beam. The 5/16-inch continuous bent plate is positioned with its edge 5/8-inch from the beam centerline to allow for shear stud attachment, and requires shoring until the concrete cures. For slab overhangs greater than 2-1/2 inches, half-inch diameter deformed bar anchors are provided at 24 inches on center unless noted otherwise, with dimensions spanning up to 30 inches and an 18-inch maximum overhang. The metal deck requires a minimum 2-inch bearing on the wide flange beam, sized per plan.
