A wide flange beam supports a concrete slab edge formed by a one-quarter-inch bent plate with a two-inch minimum bearing width. One-half-inch diameter by two-and-a-half-foot deformed bar anchors are spaced at twelve inches on center, supplemented by number four A706 reinforcement with closure plates welded to the plate at the contractor's option. Continuous number four reinforcing bars run horizontally within the slab edge, maintaining a one-inch clearance. A quarter-inch fillet weld with two-inch length and twelve-inch spacing secures the assembly.
