A moment connection frames a steel beam into the weak axis of a column sized per plan. The connection utilizes a 1/2-inch plate welded to the column flanges and web with 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides. Additional 3/8-inch by 4-inch required plates are positioned at the top and bottom flanges. A separate shear connection is detailed per sheet 20/S5.51.
