A structural steel beam connects to a concrete tilt-up wall panel. The connection relies on a three-quarter-inch embed plate with a depth matching the beam depth and a minimum of fourteen inches, anchored by three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch Nelson studs configured in quantities of eight for beams up to fourteen inches deep or twelve for deeper beams. A shear plate of size and bolt count per the typical connection schedule connects the steel beam web to the embed plate. Additionally, a one-half-inch tie plate is used with a height matching the embed plate less one-half inch. A panel joint condition is required when the beam web falls within six inches of the panel edge, omitting panel reinforcing for clarity.
