An elevator rail support connects to a vertical laminated strand lumber post using a 3/8-inch cap plate and 3/8-inch by 7-inch by 8-inch plates with two standard bolts tightened finger tight at a 4-inch gauge. Steel beams frame into the assembly using full depth shear connection plates per plan, secured with typical fillet welds. A 3/16-inch fillet weld joins the cap plate assembly, while a 1/4-inch fillet weld attaches the beam connection.
