A structural steel column is welded to a base plate with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld, referencing schedule plate sizes "T" and dimension "N" by dimension "B". Four anchor bolts are positioned at the corners with a one-and-a-half-inch typical minimum clearance from the bolts to the column and base plate edge. An optional one-inch diameter maximum grout hole is centered in the web. Centerlines align the column and plate.
