A galvanized hollow structural section 4x4 post connects to a W10 wide-flange column via an intermediate 3/4 inch by 11 inch plate. The HSS post is secured to the top of the plate with a 3/16 inch fillet weld. The plate sits atop the W10 column and is attached with a 5/16 inch fillet weld. The top of the plate is established at an elevation of 467 feet and 8 and 3/4 inches.
