A concrete wall construction joint forms between a first pour and a second pour. A keyway measuring one and a half inches is formed at the joint with twelve-inch long keys spaced at twenty-four inches on center. Two rows of keys are required where the concrete wall thickness exceeds sixteen inches. Typical horizontal wall reinforcement continues through the joint. The surface must be cleaned prior to placing concrete for the second pour.
