A wide flange column connects to a wide flange cantilever stub that extends to support an upturned wide flange beam across a six-inch clearance gap. A continuous plate with a polytetrafluoroethylene surface sliding bearing pad is placed between the structural members. A deck edge angle defines the edge of the slab. Complete joint penetration welds are specified on the top and bottom flanges of the framing connection, supplemented by five-sixteenths inch fillet welds.
