Concrete column tie configurations show the arrangement of vertical reinforcing bars, column ties, and crossties for square and circular column sections. Rectangular columns feature configurations Type A and Type B with designated tie layouts and a typical one-and-a-half-inch concrete clearance. Circular columns feature Type C and Type D with equally spaced vertical reinforcement and specified lap splice requirements alternating every other hoop by one hundred eighty degrees. Crossties require a one hundred thirty-five-degree hook at one end and a ninety-degree hook at the other, alternating along the longitudinal direction.
