Steel beams frame into a structural steel column with bolted shear connections on both sides. A half-inch cap plate tops the column, sized per the column schedule beneath a metal roof deck. Web stiffeners are welded to the column web, with additional web stiffeners located beyond the immediate connection plane. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch connect the beam framing at exterior perimeter beams.
