A single plate is welded to the face of a hollow structural section column using a quarter-inch fillet weld at the fabricator's option, top and bottom. The steel beam web bolts to the three-hole shear tab with standard or horizontal short slotted holes. Edge distances and bolt spacings maintain one and a half inch minimums and three inch maximums per AISC criteria. Bolt quantity and size are determined by the structural schedule.
