The vertical stud connects to the top track sized per the partition schedule, positioned below a parallel metal roof deck. A forty-three mil closure plate measuring twelve inches by six inches is attached at thirty-six inches on center with two shotpins on each side. The shotpins are installed one and one-half inches clear from the flute edge typically. Sheet metal screws are staggered with spacing matching the metal deck attachment when the top track aligns with the upper flute. At the metal roof deck, shotpins are substituted with sheet metal screws per the schedule.
