An HSS post bears onto a half-inch by ten-inch by one-foot-two-inch embed plate welded with quarter-inch fillets and secured with four half-inch diameter by five-inch welded headed studs. The embed plate is cast into the top of a concrete slab sized per plan, maintaining a two-inch clear cover. Additional reinforcement consists of two number four by forty-eight-inch bars on each side and two number four by four-inch hairpins on each side spaced at twenty-four inches typical unless otherwise noted.
